Meet your driver/guide on arrival at Bandaranayake International Airport.

Drive to Sigiriya.

En route, visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is home to elephants that are left abandoned due to unforeseeable circumstances.

It is a widely acclaimed tourist attraction because of its comfortable setting for elephants. Visitors are allowed to see the way elephants are treated and cared for.

Dinner at the hotel.

Highlights: Pinnawala Elephant Orphange, coconut break.

In the morning climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress.

Rising dramatically from the central plains, this enigmatic rocky outcrop of is perhaps Sri Lanka’s single most dramatic sight and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Near-vertical walls soar to a flat-topped summit that contains the ruins of an ancient civilization.

After climbing Sigiriya Rock you’ll be taken to Kandy. En route visit a spice garden and have a complementary foot massage.

Kandy is famed as Sri Lanka’s last feudal kingdom, and home of the Temple of the Tooth, which contains a sacred Buddha relic, which is celebrated every year with the Kandy Perahera (Seasonal–July/August).

Evening visit a gem museum and enjoy a cultural dance show.

Dinner at the hotel.

Highlights: Sigiriya Rock Fortress, spice garden at Matale, complementary foot massage, gem museum, cultural dance.

In the morning, visit the Temple of the Tooth.

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth is a world-renowned place of Buddhist worship. It is venerated by thousands of local and foreign devotees, and was named a UNESCO World heritage Site in 1988.

Drive to Bentota.

This palm-fringed stretch of golden sand south of Sri Lanka is where fishermen sell their catch of the day.

En route visit a tea factory and field in Pilimathalawa.

Dinner at the hotel.

Highlights: Kandy Temple of the Tooth, tea factory and tea field, turtle hatchery.

After breakfast, a boat ride on the Madu River.

Drive to Colombo.

Colombo is the vibrant and cosmopolitan capital city of Sri Lanka. The Portuguese gave the city its current name, which is derived from Sinhala kolon thota ‘port on the river Kelani’ or kola-amba-thota ‘harbor with leafy/green mango trees’.

Thanks to its natural harbor it has been a trading point for thousands of years, visited by traders from as far as China and the Roman Empire.

From the 8th century Arab traders settled in the area and eventually came to control the trade through Colombo.

Take a tour of Colombo city and shopping.

Experience Colombo night life, including street food.

Highlights: Madu River boat safari, Colombo city tour, Gangaramaya Temple.

After breakfast, drive to Bandaranayake International Airport for your return flight.
